The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has alleged that Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara, is being misled by individuals who previously lobbied for the governorship position.

Speaking at a grand reception organized in his honor by the Kalabari people, Wike claimed that Fubara’s close advisers are plotting his downfall, particularly the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Tammy Danagogo.

According to Wike, Danagogo, who was denied the PDP governorship ticket, played a key role in the political crisis rocking Rivers State. He accused Danagogo of using his elder brother, a judicial officer, to obtain controversial ex parte orders that legitimized the defection of 27 lawmakers and allowed Fubara to present the state budget to only a few legislators.

“You (Fubara) surrounded yourself with people who wanted to be governor, whom I said ‘no’ to. These people don’t mean well for Rivers State. They are misleading you, and now, you are already down 2-0 with more to come,” Wike stated.
