Veteran Actress Jumoke George Reveals Six-Year Homeless Struggle, Missing Daughter, and Health Crisis.

Veteran Nollywood actress, Jumoke George, has broken her silence on years of personal battles involving homelessness, serious illness, and the mysterious disappearance of her first child, Adeola.

In a heartfelt interview on the TalkToB Show, the seasoned actress revealed that she has been living inside a church for the past six years after being evicted from her apartment due to unpaid rent.

“There are some things that are embarrassing to say, but I have no choice. I’ve been staying in a church building for six years,” she said tearfully.

Health Challenges and Financial Struggles

Jumoke explained that work as an actress had become irregular, and when she fell ill, she could no longer honour acting roles. She used the money from one job for medical treatment and had to borrow funds to refund the producer.

“I became ill, and couldn’t work. I’ve done tests, but I need N400,000 for more, and I don’t know where to get the money,” she shared.

She also revealed that her son, Ife, has borrowed close to N2 million trying to support her medical bills, which is affecting his own livelihood.

“His salary is small, but he has been doing all he can for me. I’m scared they might sack him because of the loans he’s taken.”

Living in the Church in Silence

After being evicted, Jumoke said her church pastor offered her a small room to sleep in. Out of shame, she kept her situation private and only let a few people know.

“It couldn’t even contain all my things. I had to share my belongings among friends. I sleep on a mattress on the church floor,” she said.

She added that the pastor’s wife, whom she calls “Mummy Church,” often provides her food, drugs, and herbal medicine to manage her condition.

Missing Daughter and Emotional Burden

Perhaps the most painful part of her story was the revelation that her 41-year-old daughter, Adeola, has been missing for four years. Jumoke said Adeola was last seen in Ibadan and later called her once with a strange number.

“She told me to forgive her and said she didn’t know where her journey would lead. I’ve not heard from her since,” Jumoke said.

She now takes care of Adeola’s children, with no information about their father, whom she has never seen or heard from in years.

“I spend any small money I get searching for her. Her children are with me, and I don’t know where else to look.”

A Cry for Help

With her health declining and no stable place to live, Jumoke made a heartfelt appeal to Nigerians:

“Please pray for me. I don’t know if this is spiritual. I’ve fasted and prayed. I am tired. No house, my child is missing, and I’m sick. I need help.”
