Controversial Nigerian activist and social media critic, Martin Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has unveiled plans to mobilise his supporters under the Ratel Movement for a nationwide community service initiative.

In a viral video posted on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, VDM announced that the movement will begin monthly community sanitation exercises starting Saturday, November 29, 2025.

According to him, the initiative is designed to address environmental challenges and foster patriotism among Nigerian youths.

• “Starting from the 29th of November, 2025, which will be on a Saturday, we the Ratel Movement are taking over Nigeria. We are shutting down this country — not with violence, but with impact,” VDM declared.

He explained that the activities will include:

• Cleaning public spaces
• Clearing drainages
• Rehabilitating school facilities
• Other grassroots community services

VDM emphasized that the Ratel Movement seeks to move beyond online activism and create tangible impact in society, describing the initiative as something “never seen before in Nigeria.”
