UPDATED: Tens of Thousands Protest Across US and Europe Against President Trump’s Policies.

Massive anti-Trump protests erupted across major cities in the United States and Europe on Saturday, as tens of thousands marched against President Donald Trump’s controversial policies and leadership style, marking the largest demonstration since his return to the White House.

From Washington D.C., New York, Los Angeles, and Houston to international capitals like Paris, London, Berlin, and Rome, demonstrators expressed deep frustration over what they described as a dangerous erosion of civil liberties, economic instability, and authoritarian governance.

Naija Blog Daily reports that the coordinated protest, dubbed “Hands Off!”, was organized by a coalition of civil rights groups, including MoveOn and Women’s March, spanning more than 1,000 cities and every U.S. congressional district.

“What’s happening in America is everyone’s problem,” said Liz Chamberlin, a dual US-British citizen, speaking at a protest in London. “It’s economic lunacy… He is going to push us into a global recession.”

In New York City, artist Shaina Kesner, 43, joined thousands in Manhattan, holding placards and chanting. “A bunch of privileged, white alleged rapists are controlling our country. It’s not great,” she said.

At the National Mall in Washington, demonstrators listened to powerful speeches condemning Trump’s divisive agenda. Rep. Jamie Raskin, who led the second impeachment effort against Trump, declared:

“No moral person wants an economy-crashing dictator who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.”

Veteran activist Graylan Hagler, 71, added: “They’ve woken up a sleeping giant. We will not sit down, we will not be quiet, and we will not go away.”

In Los Angeles, a woman dressed as a character from The Handmaid’s Tale waved a flag reading: “Get out of my uterus,” referencing Trump’s anti-abortion stance. Meanwhile, in Denver, a protester raised a sign that read: “No king for USA.”

The protest in Paris saw dozens gather outside the U.S. embassy, voicing disapproval of both Trump and his close adviser, Tesla CEO Elon Musk, with signs reading “Hands Off!” and calling out policies deemed destructive on a global scale.

Protesters targeted Trump’s:

  • Harsh immigration stance
  • Abortion restrictions
  • Sweeping tariff policies
  • Deep government cuts
  • Moves perceived as anti-democratic

Despite growing global and domestic opposition, the White House has dismissed the protests, with Trump stating:

“My policies will never change,” he declared Friday.

According to recent polls, Trump’s approval ratings have fallen to their lowest point since he resumed office. But his core Republican base remains largely supportive, complicating opposition efforts.

Saturday’s rallies were peaceful, energetic, and diverse, including seniors, students, and families with children. Organizers initially expected 20,000 attendees in Washington but said turnout was significantly higher.
