Speaking during a UN Security Council emergency session on Friday, Guterres said:
“To the parties to the conflict — the potential parties to the conflict — and to the Security Council as the representative of the international community, I have a simple and clear message: Give peace a chance.”
While Guterres did not mention names, his statement appeared to be a veiled reference to the United States, which is reportedly considering military intervention in support of Israel.

The UN Chief painted a grim picture of the situation:

Global Concern Over Middle East Instability
The Iran-Israel conflict has drawn global concern, with countries like the UK, Australia, and others withdrawing diplomatic staff, activating emergency plans, and urging their citizens to avoid the region.
The UN’s top diplomat called on world powers and regional actors to use their influence to prevent a full-scale regional war, stressing that the international community has to step in before it’s too late.
