In a fiery return to the United Nations General Assembly after six years, U.S. President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on the United Nations and European leaders, accusing them of enabling what he described as a “global invasion” through open-border policies.
Trump alleged that the UN was directly financing illegal migration into the United States and Europe, claiming the organization spent $372 million in 2024 to support more than 600,000 migrants with cash, food, shelter, and transport en route to Western borders.
- “The UN is supposed to stop invasions, not create them, and not finance them,” Trump declared.

The President boasted that under his administration, illegal border crossings had dropped to zero for four consecutive months, crediting his hardline deportation and detention measures. He framed the crackdown as both a national security strategy and a humanitarian necessity, arguing that strict enforcement discouraged dangerous migration routes where “thousands were dying and women were being raped.”
Trump did not stop at the UN. He sharply criticized European governments for what he called “suicidal policies”, accusing leaders of political cowardice in the face of migrant inflows.
Citing statistics from the Council of Europe, Trump claimed that migrants made up nearly 50% of prison populations in Germany, 53% in Austria, 54% in Greece, and 72% in Switzerland. According to him, this was proof that Europe’s generosity had been “repaid with crime.”
- “Your countries are being ruined,” Trump warned delegates. “They’ve been invaded by a force of illegal aliens like nobody has ever seen before. It’s not sustainable.”
The U.S. leader singled out London as an example of cultural decline, blasting its mayor and warning that unchecked migration could transform European cities beyond recognition.
Trump’s solution was uncompromising: mass deportations and strict border enforcement. He insisted that asylum fraud, false refugee claims, and illegal entry should result in immediate deportation, adding that compassion must be shown in migrants’ home countries rather than through Western resettlement.

The President stressed that immigration was not just a domestic challenge but an existential threat to national survival, urging countries to defend their sovereignty.
- “We have reasserted that America belongs to the American people, and I encourage all nations to take a stand in defense of their citizens as well. Your countries are going to hell if you don’t act,” Trump said.
The address drew a mixed reaction from world leaders—some applauded, while others sat in visible discomfort, reflecting the divisive nature of Trump’s hardline stance on migration at the global stage.
