President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a firm directive to the National Security Adviser (NSA), service chiefs, and other security agencies to intensify the fight against insecurity across Nigeria, declaring that “enough is enough” following a surge in killings and violent attacks in several states.
The order came during a high-level security meeting held on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, and was detailed in a statement by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga.
Recent reports of violent killings in Borno, Benue, Plateau, and Kwara states have raised national alarm, prompting this urgent response from the presidency.
Tinubu Demands New Security Approach
Following the closed-door meeting, NSA Nuhu Ribadu addressed the press, stating that President Tinubu had called for a complete overhaul of the national security strategy and a more grassroots-focused approach.
“Mr President gave us the chance to come and brief him again… It was very detailed and exhaustive,” Ribadu said.
He emphasized that President Tinubu, even while on international visits to Paris and London, stayed in touch with national developments and issued real-time instructions to the security services.
Collaboration with Governors, Communities Essential
Ribadu noted that community-level engagement is key to solving many of the country’s security issues.

“The President directed that we work more with governors, local governments, and communities,” he explained.
“We were all at the meeting — armed forces, police, intelligence community — and the President made it clear: Enough is enough. We are working to restore peace and security across Nigeria.”
