President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has confirmed the death of former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing it as a monumental national loss. The former leader reportedly died in London at about 4:30 pm on Sunday, following a prolonged illness.
The announcement was made through a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.

VP Shettima to Accompany Buhari’s Body Back to Nigeria
President Tinubu has taken swift action by dispatching Vice President Kashim Shettima to the United Kingdom to assist in accompanying Buhari’s body back to Nigeria for burial.
“President Tinubu has also ordered Vice President Kashim Shettima to proceed to the United Kingdom to accompany President Muhammadu Buhari’s body back to Nigeria,” Onanuga added.

Tinubu also reached out to Mrs. Aisha Buhari, the widow of the late president, offering his heartfelt condolences to the grieving family.
In a further show of national respect, the president ordered all flags to be flown at half-staff across the country in honor of the former leader.
