President Bola Tinubu has announced the appointment of key officials for the newly established Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin Ekiti, Ekiti State.
According to a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday, Senator Binta Garba has been named Pro-Chancellor and Chairperson of the Governing Council.

The Presidency described Senator Binta Garba as a seasoned politician, businesswoman, and administrator with extensive experience in legislative governance. She represented Adamawa North Senatorial District (2015–2019) and served multiple terms in the House of Representatives (1999–2011).
Tinubu acknowledged the instrumental role of Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele in advocating for the establishment of the university in Ekiti State. He urged the newly appointed officials to drive academic excellence, research innovation, and institutional development.

In a related development, Tinubu also appointed Prof. Muhammed Audu as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Board of the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Benue State. He succeeds Ohieku Salami.
