President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Interface Africa, a Kaduna-based tech firm led by Al’amim Idris, for emerging as the winner of the prestigious NextGen Innovation Challenge, earning a £1.5 million cash prize.
The company secured the top position at the grand finale of the competition held on Thursday at the Hilton London Paddington, where it was recognized for its groundbreaking work in affordable solar financing for small businesses across Africa.

In a statement released on Friday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu commended the firm’s innovation and commitment to expanding clean energy access in underserved communities.
He noted that the NextGen Innovation Challenge—an initiative of the National Board for Technology Incubation in partnership with UKALD London—aligns with his Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to harness the creativity and potential of young Nigerians.

Tinubu also extended his congratulations to the other 104 participants, urging them to remain steadfast in their efforts to create life-changing innovations that will shape the future of humanity.
The President reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to building a thriving innovation ecosystem where Nigerian entrepreneurs can compete and excel globally.
