Taraba State Assembly Denies Plot to Replace Ailing Deputy Governor Aminu Alkali.

The Taraba State House of Assembly has firmly denied circulating rumors alleging plans to remove Deputy Governor Aminu Alkali from office due to his prolonged medical leave.

Speaking to journalists in Jalingo on Thursday, the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, Nelson Len, clarified that there were no discussions or intentions within the legislature—or any other arm of government—to declare the deputy governor incapacitated or initiate his replacement.

Len emphasized that Aminu Alkali, who has been receiving medical treatment in Abuja since November 2024, is expected to resume official duties once he fully recovers.

  • “We urge the public to disregard false speculations suggesting that the House of Assembly is preparing to declare the Deputy Governor incapacitated,” Len stated.
