Global streaming platform Spotify has named Nigerian sensation Ayra Starr as the biggest female Afrobeats artist in the past 12 months. The “Sabi Girl” star topped Spotify’s newly released list of Top 5 Female Afrobeats Artists, further cementing her reputation as the “Pop Star of Afrobeats.”

Coming in second on the list is Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer Tems, followed by American-Cameroonian singer Libianca in third place. Malian-French star Aya Nakamura secured the fourth spot, while British-Nigerian singer Darkoo completed the top 5 ranking.

Surprisingly, South African hitmaker Tyla, who has dominated global Afrobeats awards over the last year, was absent from the ranking.
