Veteran midfielder and Real Madrid captain, Luka Modric, is reportedly set to become a minority owner of English Championship side, Swansea City, even as he continues his professional football career.

The update was confirmed by renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano via his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Monday.

“Luka Modrić, set to become new Minority Owner at Swansea. Modrić will become one of the owners of the Championship club, deal agreed,” Romano posted.

Modric Not Retiring Yet – Still Focused on Real Madrid

Romano clarified that the ownership deal does not affect Modric’s playing career, as the Croatian legend remains committed to Real Madrid and hopes to extend his stay at the Spanish giants.

The 39-year-old midfielder joined Real Madrid in 2012 from Tottenham Hotspur and has since become a club icon, winning multiple UEFA Champions League titles and countless domestic trophies.
