Planned Defection: Tinubu Hosts Three PDP Senators from Kebbi State at Aso Rock.

In what appears to be another major political shift, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday hosted three prominent Senators from Kebbi State, all of whom are reportedly finalizing plans to defect from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmakers—Senator Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Senator Yahaya Abubakar Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Senator Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South)—were received at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The high-level meeting was held behind closed doors and also included APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje.

Key political figures present at the meeting included the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu; Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris; and Sokoto State Governor, Ahmad Aliyu. Several other APC stakeholders were also in attendance.

This development comes amid a wave of defections from the PDP to the APC across the country. Recently, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori shocked many Nigerians by aligning with the ruling party alongside several loyalists.
