Big Brother Naija reality star, Phyna (Ijeoma Josephina Otabor), has accused the Dangote Group of negligence and insensitivity in the handling of her sister’s death and subsequent burial.

In a series of emotional Instagram posts, Phyna alleged that her late sister, Ruth Otabor, did not just die tragically but under circumstances she described as “calculated and planned.” She accused the conglomerate of failing to honor its promise of fully covering her sister’s medical and burial expenses.

According to Phyna, the company only paid hospital bills at Lagoon Hospital in Lagos, while her family was left to bear additional costs from Auchi to Irrua without reimbursement. “The bills from Auchi down to Irrua were covered by the family; no refund has been made,” she lamented.

She further revealed that on the day of Ruth’s burial, September 13, attempts to reach the Dangote Group proved futile, as calls from the family went unanswered. “We were told the bills were not paid, but they claim it was,” Phyna wrote.

The reality star also shared a letter allegedly sent by the company to her father, demanding that he sign an acknowledgment of receipt regarding burial expenses. She described this as an act of impersonation and manipulation, arguing that her family should have been directly consulted.

• “This letter that was sent to my dad this evening is really paining me. @dangotegroup, you killed my sister, did massive PR, gave the girl’s papa money for burial, then still by yourself wrote an acknowledgement letter impersonating my father and sent it to him to sign,” Phyna alleged.

The BBNaija star questioned why a conglomerate of such magnitude would resort to what she termed a deliberate attempt to control the narrative, instead of treating her grieving family with honesty, fairness, and respect.
