The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kebbi State has re-elected Alhaji Usman Bello-Suru as its State Chairman, alongside 38 newly elected executives, to steer the party’s affairs for the next four years.
Transparent and credible Congress
Announcing the results, Dr. Mukhtar Lugga, Chairman of the State Delegates’ Congress, described the exercise as “transparent, credible and fair.” He confirmed that delegates from all 21 local government areas of Kebbi State participated, with representatives of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and party stakeholders on the ground to observe proceedings.
Dr. Lugga further praised the delegates for their “patience, orderliness, and commitment” throughout the congress.
Bello-Suru promises reconciliation and unity
In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Bello-Suru thanked PDP members for their confidence and pledged to reconcile aggrieved factions within the party.
- “We will follow the roadmap to strengthen party structures and build a robust grassroots network. You can now testify by the caliber of people elected today. PDP in Kebbi will be revitalized and more effective. We will work tirelessly to reclaim power, Insha Allahu, and serve the good people of Kebbi State with honesty and integrity.”
Party leaders react
The party’s 2023 governorship candidate, General Aminu Bande (rtd.), congratulated the new executives and urged them to embrace unity as a tool for strengthening the PDP in Kebbi.

- Hussaini Abdullahi-Raha as Deputy Chairman
- Abubakar Bawa-Kalgo as Secretary
With the new leadership in place, the Kebbi PDP says it is set to reposition itself ahead of upcoming elections and strengthen its presence at both the state and national levels.
