Governor Ademola Adeleke has reimposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew in the crisis-hit Ifon and Ilobu communities of Osun State, following a fresh outbreak of violent clashes. The new curfew, effective Friday, March 21, 2025, extends from 6 PM to 6 AM daily until peace is fully restored.
According to a statement by Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, the state government took this decision due to the resurgence of hostilities between the neighboring communities.

Governor Adeleke, expressing deep dissatisfaction over the renewed crisis, also directed:
Security forces, including the Nigerian Army, Police, and Civil Defence Corps, to maintain a 24-hour presence in the affected areas to prevent further violence.
An immediate stakeholders’ meeting on Saturday, March 22, 2025, involving traditional rulers, including HRM Oba Peter Oluwole Akinyooye (Olufon of Ifon) and HRM Oba Ashiru Olatoye Olaniyan (Olobu of Ilobu), along with key community leaders, to find a lasting resolution.
The peace committee, previously set up to mediate the conflict, resumed work immediately.
The renewed violence reportedly led to dozens of casualties, with unconfirmed reports stating that about 30 people were shot as clashes erupted between the rival communities sharing a common boundary.

Governor Adeleke has vowed to bring all perpetrators and masterminds of the violence to justice, warning that any individual or group aiding and abetting the crisis will face the full wrath of the law.
