The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has cautioned Corps members across the country to desist from posting negative or misleading content on social media, urging them to use their platforms to promote the image of the Scheme and Nigeria.
The warning was issued by the NYSC Director General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, during his address to the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Corps members at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Issele-Uku, Delta State, on Friday.

In a statement released through the NYSC official X handle, the DG stressed that Corps members who engage in negative online behaviour or publish content that misrepresents the Scheme would face appropriate sanctions.
He further advised Corps members to avoid unauthorised travel, obey camp rules, and stay focused on the purpose of the orientation programme.
Nafiu said:
- “Follow simple instructions, be obedient, go for your biometrics and Community Development Service. Learn and respect the cultural values of your host communities and do not misrepresent us at your place of primary assignment.”

Earlier, the NYSC Delta State Coordinator, Mr. John Kwaghe, presented a report indicating that 2,101 Corps members—comprising 944 males and 1,157 females—had been deployed to Delta State for the current batch.
He noted that camp activities were running smoothly with high levels of discipline among both Corps members and officials.
NAIJABLOGDAILY also reported on Wednesday that Brigadier General Nafiu had earlier advised Corps members in Rivers State to uphold the core values of the Scheme throughout their service year and beyond.
He urged them to remain patriotic and let integrity, efficiency, transparency, and commitment guide their conduct.
