Award-winning Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage has sparked conversations online after stating that Nigerian men may be stylish and wealthy, but often fall short when it comes to romance and emotional connection.

In a recent chat on GRM Daily’s Thoughts in a Culli, the “Somebody’s Son” crooner said many Nigerian men are “swaggalicious but not romantic.” She emphasized that while they are known for flaunting fashion, luxury, and material wealth, they struggle to show genuine affection in relationships.

“Nigerian men do have swag, but they are not really romantic when it comes down to it,” Tiwa said.

The mother of one further explained that she prefers depth and sincerity over flashiness, adding that real romance for her is about emotional effort, not just spending money or showing off.

“They know how to swag and splash cash, but I’m not looking for that,” she added.
