Tax Reforms Face Strong Opposition
The passage of Tinubu’s tax bills comes amid ongoing controversy and resistance from key stakeholders.
The Northern Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NNGF) previously rejected the proposed Value-Added Tax (VAT) derivation model, a crucial aspect of the Nigeria Tax Bill.
The National Economic Council (NEC) also opposed the tax derivation framework, raising concerns over its impact on revenue sharing across states.
