NASU Threatens Nationwide Shutdown of WAEC Offices Over Workers’ Welfare.

The Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions (NASU) has issued a seven-day strike ultimatum to the management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) over unresolved labor grievances.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos on Monday, NASU General Secretary, Prince Peters Adeyemi, warned that if their four-point demand—which includes workers’ welfare concerns and alleged victimisation of labour leaders—is not met, all WAEC offices nationwide will be shut down indefinitely starting Monday, March 24.

“This action will affect WAEC operations across Nigeria unless immediate steps are taken to address our concerns,” Adeyemi stated.
