Derin Phillips, an aspirant for the Ikoyi-Obalende Local Council Development Area (LCDA) chairmanship seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has pledged to champion technology, education, and transparent governance as part of his vision to transform the community.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Phillips unveiled his five-point agenda, branded FAITH, aimed at addressing key developmental challenges and restoring public confidence in the council’s leadership.

Speaking passionately, Phillips emphasized that he was “born and bred” in Ikoyi-Obalende and is running for office to ensure residents enjoy the dividends of democracy.

Under the education and technology pillar, Phillips highlighted his commitment to introducing cutting-edge innovations, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), to align the LCDA with global best practices.
“There is an emerging potential we must tap into as Africans, Nigerians, and Lagosians. We must be forward-thinking in the way we educate and equip our youth,” he said.

Phillips also vowed to maintain open lines of communication with residents if elected, promising to make his phone number publicly accessible.

“When I am elected, everyone in the council will have unhindered access to me. Communication is key to addressing security and other pressing issues before they escalate,” he stated.
The aspirant praised the people of Ikoyi-Obalende for their resilience and hunger for change, expressing confidence that the area could become “the pride of Lagos.”
