Tensions between Israel and Iran have escalated sharply, with Israel’s Defence Minister issuing a direct threat to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, over his alleged role in orchestrating attacks against Israel through Iranian proxy forces.

According to a report by Al Jazeera, the minister accused Khamenei of being the mastermind behind Iran’s aggression and declared that eliminating him is now part of Israel’s military objectives.

Minister: “Khamenei Must Not Stay Alive”

In a bold and controversial statement, Israel’s Defence Minister said:

• “A man like [Khamenei] has always aimed at destroying Israel through his agents. This man, who is willing to attack us, must not stay alive. Eliminating him is part of the campaign.”

• The comments follow a recent Iranian missile strike on Beersheba, which reportedly damaged the Soroka Medical Center, increasing fears of a wider regional conflict.

Ongoing Military Strikes Between Israel and Iran

The situation has deteriorated rapidly:

• Israel has launched multiple airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear and military facilities.
• Iran has retaliated with missile and drone attacks on Israeli territories.
• The death toll from Israeli strikes in Iran has reportedly surpassed 240, including at least 70 women and children.

Iranian attacks on Israel have also killed at least 24 people, according to international reports.

Netanyahu and Trump Respond to Iran’s Threats

In a recent video message, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the Iranian people, saying that Israel’s operations are aimed at securing peace and possibly helping Iranians “achieve freedom.”

Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the crisis via social media:

“We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now… Our patience is wearing thin,” Trump said, referring to Khamenei.

Khamenei Warns of “Irreparable Consequences”

Earlier this week, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warned the United States that any direct attack on Iranian soil would lead to “serious, irreparable consequences.”
