Israel Issues Final Evacuation Warning as Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan Faces Hamas Review.

October 1, 2025-Published by Cyril

Israel has issued what it described as a final warning for residents to flee Gaza City as its military intensified bombardments and tightened its encirclement of the territory’s largest urban centre.

Defence Minister Israel Katz declared on Wednesday that civilians had “one last opportunity” to move south, warning that those who remained would be treated as “terrorists or terrorist supporters.” He confirmed that Israeli forces had seized the Netzarim corridor, effectively cutting northern Gaza off from the south, with anyone leaving required to pass through military checkpoints.

The order comes as Hamas leaders deliberate over a U.S.-backed ceasefire plan proposed by President Donald Trump and endorsed by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The 20-point plan includes a truce, hostage releases within 72 hours, Hamas’s disarmament, and a phased Israeli withdrawal. While no decision has been made, a Palestinian source said Hamas is seeking amendments, including guarantees of a full withdrawal and rejection of disarmament.

Meanwhile, Gaza’s civil defence reported at least 46 fatalities from Israeli airstrikes on Wednesday, including 36 in Gaza City. The Israeli army confirmed a strike on a school-turned-shelter, claiming it targeted a Hamas militant while taking steps to minimise civilian harm. Aid groups such as the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders have suspended operations in parts of Gaza due to escalating violence.

Trump has given Hamas “three or four days” to accept the proposal, warning the group would “pay in hell” if it refused. Sources in Doha say divisions remain within Hamas leadership, with some favouring unconditional acceptance under international guarantees, while others reject clauses on disarmament and expulsion.

According to Israeli figures, Hamas’s October 7, 2023, attack killed 1,219 people, mostly civilians. In response, Gaza’s health ministry — whose data is considered reliable by the UN — reports more than 66,000 Palestinians killed in Israel’s offensive, with women and children making up over half of the casualties.
