Controversial show promoter Sam Larry has publicly denied allegations of assaulting late Nigerian singer Mohbad, following the resurfacing of a viral video that appeared to show a confrontation between the two.
In a candid interview with popular social media activist VeryDarkMan, Sam Larry addressed the video clip that sparked public outrage, with many interpreting it as harassment toward the late singer.

According to Sam Larry, the situation was “completely misunderstood.” He explained that the viral video, which lasted only nine seconds, captured a moment at a beach where he encountered Mohbad and demanded a refund for a show the artist allegedly failed to attend.
“That video was just 9 seconds. I was with my son at the beach. When I saw Mohbad, I walked up to him and demanded my money for a show he didn’t show up for. Zlatan was there and quickly stepped in to resolve it. There was no assault. I’ve never touched Mohbad all my life,” he said.
Addressing speculations about his whereabouts during Mohbad’s untimely death, Sam Larry claimed he was in Dubai, while his associate and music executive Naira Marley was in Amsterdam at the time.

However, his statements have only intensified public scrutiny, especially with many questioning why Zlatan Ibile, who was allegedly present during the confrontation, has remained silent.
Sam Larry responded to the speculation, saying in Pidgin:
- “Zlatan say if hin talk, say blood go comot for hin mouth.”
As investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s tragic passing, Sam Larry’s defense has done little to calm growing suspicions online.
