Veteran Nigerian singer Inetimi Alfred Odon, popularly known as Timaya, has shut down speculations about his retirement from the music scene.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, the Bayelsa-born hitmaker clarified that he hasn’t retired but is simply taking a much-needed rest.
“No be say the boy retire, the boy just been dey sleep…,” Timaya wrote, using his signature laid-back tone.
A Two-Decade Legacy
Timaya rose to fame in 2005 with the release of his groundbreaking debut single ‘Dem Mama’, a powerful song that narrated the Odi massacre in his home state, Bayelsa. His follow-up album, ‘True Story’, released in 2006, firmly established him as a force in Nigeria’s growing music industry.
