Hajj 2025: 62 Airlines Operate 3,314 Flights to Saudi Arabia, Transporting Pilgrims from 71 Countries.

A total of 62 international airlines operated 3,314 Hajj flights this year, transporting Muslim pilgrims from 238 destinations across 71 countries to Saudi Arabia, according to officials of the Hajj Transport and Logistics Committee.

The update was given by Saleh Al-Zuwaid, the official spokesperson for the Hajj Transport and Logistics team, during a press briefing at the Hajj Media Operations Centre in Makkah on Tuesday.

Al-Zuwaid noted that this year’s Hajj operations witnessed smooth logistics and a high level of coordination, ensuring seamless pilgrim arrivals, movement, and comfort.

Haramain High-Speed Rail Offers 2 Million Seats

He revealed that the Haramain High-Speed Rail scheduled 4,700 trips, offering up to two million seats, an increase of 400,000 seats compared to last year’s Hajj. As of Sunday, the rail service had already transported over 700,000 passengers, with operations ongoing to accommodate more pilgrims during the holy period.

Mashaer Train to Transport Over 2 Million Pilgrims

The Mashaer Train, designed for short-distance mass transit between holy sites, is projected to operate over 2,000 trips, moving more than 2 million pilgrims in just seven days.

New Cooling Technology and Smart Infrastructure in Holy Sites

Al-Zuwaid also mentioned that road cooling technology had expanded by 82% across the holy sites, helping to reduce surface temperatures by up to 12°C, a significant relief for pilgrims walking long distances under the sun.

5G Coverage and AI-Powered Crowd Control

Meanwhile, Saad Al-Shanbari, spokesperson for the Hajj Communications and Technology System, disclosed that 4G and 5G network coverage has now reached 99% in Makkah, Madinah, and other holy locations. Internet speed has increased to 264 Mbps, ensuring seamless connectivity for pilgrims.

Additionally, over 10,000 Wi-Fi access points have been installed across the Hajj zones. The Communications and Space Technology Commission (CSTC) also successfully tested AI-powered crowd management using HAI surveillance cameras, aimed at improving safety and movement efficiency during peak periods.
