Ganduje, Seven Others Inaugurated as FAAN Board Members in Abuja.

Just days after stepping down as National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has taken on a new leadership role as the Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

The inauguration ceremony, held in Abuja, was overseen by the Federal Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development and led by Minister Festus Keyamo.

The event also witnessed the induction of seven other key members who will represent critical ministries and aviation bodies in a bid to reposition Nigeria’s aviation sector for global competitiveness.

A Strategic Move for Aviation Growth

Speaking at the ceremony, Festus Keyamo described the inauguration as a milestone for Nigeria’s aviation future, signaling a renewed commitment to service delivery, airport infrastructure development, and passenger satisfaction.

“This occasion marks not just a change in leadership but a renewed commitment to safety and progress. We are determined to build world-class aviation infrastructure,” Keyamo said.

He jokingly added that Ganduje’s political influence could ease funding issues:

“He will just press one button, and money will come out.”

Ganduje Pledges Reform and Service Excellence

In his speech, Dr. Ganduje expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the appointment and pledged to align the board’s goals with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“We will operate within our legal framework, study the FAAN Act, and avoid conflict between the board and management. Our goal is to ensure regulatory compliance, enhance infrastructure, and promote Nigeria’s image through our airports,” he said.

Ganduje also emphasized attitude change, stakeholder cooperation, and passenger-focused improvements, assuring Nigerians that service quality and international standards would guide the board’s operations.

FAAN MD Speaks on Collaboration and Progress

Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, Managing Director and CEO of FAAN, described the inauguration as a new era of strategic collaboration and institutional reform.
