Forgery Allegation: Abuja Court Sets July 16 for Arraignment of 3 Ghanaians and Nigerian Lawyer.

The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja has fixed Tuesday, July 16, 2025, for the arraignment of three Ghanaians and a Nigerian lawyer, Abu Arome, over allegations of forgery and false information.

Justice Modupe-Osho Adebiyi of Court 18 fixed the date following the issuance and service of hearing notices in the case, marked CR/402/2025.


🔍 26-Count Charge Filed by Inspector-General of Police

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the Inspector-General of Police (I-G) filed a 26-count criminal charge against the defendants. The Ghanaians named in the suit are:

  • Sir Sam Jonah, Knight of the British Empire (KBE)
  • Kojo Ansah, Managing Director/CEO of Mobus Property Nigeria Ltd
  • Victor Quainoo

Also joined in the suit is Mobus Property Nigeria Ltd, a company allegedly used in the controversial transactions.

The charges, dated June 25 and filed on June 26, were brought by prosecuting counsel Isa Garba of the Legal/Prosecution Section, Force Headquarters, Abuja.


⚖ Allegations: Forgery, Fraud, and Illegal Takeover of Property

The defendants are being accused of:

  • Forging company documents to illegally increase share capital and assign 99 million shares to themselves
  • Using falsified signatures and fake documents to assume control of:
  • Houses for Africa Nigeria Ltd
  • Jonah Capital Nigeria Ltd
  • River Park Estate, Abuja

The police allege that the accused falsely presented themselves as Nigerian citizens before the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) to further their activities.

🏗 Land Grab and Trespassing Accusations

In Count 26, the prosecution alleges that the accused trespassed into Plot No. 4, Cadastral Zone E 30, Lugbe West — popularly known as River Park Estate — and illegally constructed houses in the name of Mobus Property Nigeria Ltd, claiming ownership.

The offences are reportedly in violation of Sections 178, 342, and 348 of the Penal Code Law and carry punishments ranging from fines to imprisonment.
