The Federal Government of Nigeria has rewarded 17-year-old Nafisa Abdullah Aminu, who emerged as the World’s Best in English Language Skills at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals held in London.
At a ceremony in Abuja, the Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, presented Nafisa with a cheque of ₦200,000, describing her achievement as a testament to the brilliance, discipline, and resilience of Nigerian students on the global stage.
The event was graced by top dignitaries, including the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suiwaba Ahmed, the Yobe State Commissioner for Basic Education, Prof. Abba Adam, senior officials of the Federal Ministry of Education, and representatives from Yobe State. Five other category winners from the competition were also in attendance.
Dr. Alausa praised Nafisa’s global recognition as proof of Nigeria’s rich academic potential, stressing the importance of sustained investments in education, scholarships, mentorship, and quality learning resources.
Yobe State’s Educational Triumphs
Prof. Abba Adam commended Nafisa and her peers as symbols of resilience, especially for a state rebuilding its education system after years of insurgency. He revealed that Yobe has recorded notable achievements, including:
