The Federal Government has unveiled “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation” as the official theme for the 2025 Independence Day celebrations.
The announcement was made in a statement by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
According to the government, the theme underscores the importance of unity, patriotism, and collaboration among public institutions, private organisations, civil society, and citizens in driving national peace, prosperity, and development.

The statement further noted that the theme reflects Nigeria’s resilience since independence in 1960 and highlights the need to consolidate past gains while pursuing higher national goals under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
As part of activities lined up for the 65th Independence anniversary, the government announced a Juma’at prayer scheduled for Friday, September 26, an inter-denominational church service on Sunday, September 28, and a World Press Conference to be held on Monday, September 29 in Abuja.
