Ekiti State Assembly Confirms Justice Lekan Ogunmoye as Substantive Chief Judge.

The Ekiti State House of Assembly has officially confirmed Justice Lekan Ogunmoye as the substantive Chief Judge of Ekiti State.

The confirmation took place on Thursday during a plenary session presided over by Speaker Adeboye Aribasoye in Ado-Ekiti. Justice Ogunmoye had been serving in an acting capacity since November 2024.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the confirmation followed a detailed report presented by the Chairman of the House Committee on Judiciary and Legal Matters, Mr. Babatunde Oke. The committee’s findings highlighted Justice Ogunmoye’s legal expertise, experience, and leadership qualities.

After a thorough deliberation on the floor of the Assembly, the lawmakers unanimously endorsed the report through a voice vote, paving the way for his full confirmation.

Speaker Aribasoye praised the judiciary’s role in strengthening democracy and described Ogunmoye as a man of integrity, well-equipped to lead the judiciary arm of government in the state.
