Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele moved the motion reaffirming President Tinubu’s candidacy, which was seconded by House of Representatives member Olusola Fatoba. Speaker Aribasoye also moved the motion for Governor Oyebanji’s re-election, seconded by Chief Whip Bose Olowookere. Both motions were unanimously adopted by a loud voice vote, symbolizing a united front within the Ekiti APC.

Former Governors Niyi Adebayo and Kayode Fayemi urged members not to be complacent ahead of the 2026 governorship election. Fayemi, while commending Governor Oyebanji’s performance, assured of his full commitment to the APC and pledged to mobilize support for Oyebanji’s victory at both the primaries and the general election. He expressed confidence that Oyebanji would break the long-standing jinx of one-term governors in the state.

Speaking on behalf of National Assembly members, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele pledged their collective support to ensure Oyebanji’s return to office.

Governor Oyebanji, in his remarks, appreciated the overwhelming endorsement and stressed his commitment to party unity, inclusivity, and aggressive developmental projects. He assured stakeholders that the forthcoming APC primary on October 17 would lay a solid foundation for the 2026 governorship election and the 2027 presidential race. He called on members to see themselves as one family, urging against intimidation or division within the party ranks.

APC State Chairman, Olusola Elesin, said the meeting was convened to strengthen the party ahead of crucial elections. He praised Governor Oyebanji’s achievements and noted that his performance would serve as a major boost for the APC in Ekiti.

With this endorsement, the Ekiti APC has signaled a strong commitment to continuity at both state and national levels, positioning itself for decisive victories in the upcoming elections.
