Drama Unfolds: Oshiomhole Dares Reuben Abati to a ‘Street Fight’ Over TV Comments.

Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North, has dared veteran journalist and Arise TV anchor, Dr. Reuben Abati, to a “street fight” over what he described as disrespectful and mischievous remarks made during a live broadcast.

The fiery challenge came during Oshiomhole’s appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Tuesday, where he reacted to Abati’s comments questioning former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“I was shocked a senior editor could ask, ‘Did you get permission from Oshiomhole that your sins are now forgiven?’ That’s mischievous!” Oshiomhole said.

Oshiomhole Calls Out Abati’s Past

Although he didn’t name Abati directly, Oshiomhole referenced Abati’s EFCC arrest after serving as Presidential Spokesman under Goodluck Jonathan, calling it “shameless.”

“Was I the one who granted him bail to leave PDP? The man was arrested by EFCC… he should not throw stones.”

Oshiomhole also accused Abati of trying to erase his role in labour activism, especially on May Day, claiming:

“He refused to acknowledge that I led the protest. Yet, this is the same man who once wrote, ‘Oshiomhole, the people’s president.’”

“Come to the Street!” – Oshiomhole Fires Final Shot

In a bold final statement, the former Edo State Governor and NLC President lashed out:

“If you’re angry you lost your deputy governorship bid in Ogun State, don’t hide behind the TV. Let’s meet on the street and fight it out!”
