Burna Boy, Wizkid, Ayra Starr Lead Nigerian Submissions for 2026 Grammy Awards.

‎The excitement around the upcoming 2026 Grammy Awards has intensified as several Nigerian superstars, including Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Ayra Starr, have officially submitted their songs and albums for consideration.

‎According to The Grammy Guru, a platform that monitors Grammy submissions globally, Nigerian artists have made an impressive showing across multiple categories this year — from Album of the Year to Best African Music Performance.

‎Leading the pack is Wizkid, who submitted “Morayo” for both Album of the Year and Best Global Album. His hit “Piece of My Heart” was also entered for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best African Music Performance. The Starboy boss further submitted “Kese (Dance)”, which he directed, for Best Music Video, while his collaboration with Olamide and Darkoo, “Billionaires Club”, was entered for Best African Music Performance.

‎Burna Boy also made strong entries with his latest album, “No Sign of Weakness,” submitted for Album of the Year and Best Global Album. His song “Love” was submitted for Best African Music Performance, while his French collaboration “Kampé III” with Joé Dwèt Filé was entered for Best Global Music Performance.

‎Ayra Starr, the “Rush” crooner, joined the race with her single “Hot Body,” submitted for Record of the Year and Song of the Year. She also submitted her collaboration with Wizkid, “Gimme Dat”, for both Best African Music Performance and Best Music Video.

‎The Recording Academy will begin voting soon to determine which entries make it to the official nomination list, set to be announced in November 2025.

‎Meanwhile, Davido, another Afrobeats heavyweight, recently joined the Recording Academy as a voting member — a move that further solidifies Nigeria’s growing influence on the global music stage.
