A tragic building collapse occurred on Saturday morning in the Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos State, leaving many feared dead and others trapped under debris. The incident happened around 8:00 am on Oremeta Street, involving a multi-storey building that was still under construction.
The collapsed structure reportedly housed the popular EqualRight Restaurant, a well-known hangout for locals and visitors in the area.
According to eyewitness reports, the building came down suddenly, catching residents and passersby by surprise. Emergency response teams from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Lagos Fire and Rescue Service, and security personnel swiftly arrived at the scene to commence rescue operations.
