In a major shakeup, Tottenham Hotspur has officially parted ways with Ange Postecoglou, ending his two-year tenure as head coach.
The announcement was made on Friday via a formal club statement, following what the board described as a period of “significant reflection” and a “performance review.”
“We are extremely grateful to Ange for his commitment and contribution during his two years at the Club,” the statement read. “He will always be remembered as only the third manager in Spurs’ history to deliver a European trophy, joining legendary figures Bill Nicholson and Keith Burkinshaw.
“However, the Board has unanimously concluded that it is in the best interests of the Club for a change to take place.”

- In response to his dismissal, Ange Postecoglou released an emotional statement reflecting on his time at Tottenham Hotspur, calling it a “lifetime honour.”
“The opportunity to lead one of England’s historic football clubs and bring back the glory it deserves will live with me forever,” Postecoglou said.
“That night in Bilbao was the culmination of two years of hard work, dedication, and unwavering belief. We laid foundations that mean this club should not have to wait another 7 years for success.”

Postecoglou is credited with reviving Spurs’ European ambitions, leading the team to European silverware during his time—an achievement fans had not witnessed in over a decade.
However, despite that historic success, recent performances and inconsistency in domestic competitions reportedly led to his ouster.
