Several people are feared dead, and numerous houses have been set ablaze following a violent attack in Benue State by suspected armed herdsmen early on Saturday.

The assault targeted multiple communities, including Tombo Mbaya in Buruku Local Government Area, as well as neighboring Mbachoughu and Mbanyagber in Tarka LGA. Villages such as Ortese Mbaatsua, Garagboughul, Usen, Tomahar, and Tse Damkor were among the hardest hit, as chaos unfolded, forcing residents to flee for their lives.

Sources report that many displaced families are now seeking refuge in nearby towns, while others remain traumatized and homeless.
