Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia of Benue State has suspended Mr. Mkor Aondona, his Special Adviser on Documentation, Research, and Planning, following the latter’s arrest by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over serious allegations of sextortion, cyberbullying, and blackmail.

In a statement released by his spokesperson, Tersoo Kula, on Sunday, Governor Alia stated that the indefinite suspension is part of his administration’s zero-tolerance policy on criminal behavior and ethical misconduct.
- “Public office is a sacred trust that must be carried out with honour, transparency, and responsibility,” the Governor said.
- “Anyone who deviates from this will have no place in my administration.”
