APC Chieftain Warns El-Rufai: Don’t Drag Lagosians Into Your Political Feud.

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ambassador Abayomi Nurain Mumuni, has cautioned former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, against involving Lagos politicians in his current political grievances.

Mumuni’s statement comes in response to El-Rufai’s recent BBC interview, where he alleged that APC loyalists were sidelined while key positions were given to “Lagos boys” under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. He further accused the APC government of favoritism over meritocracy.

Mumuni’s Response to El-Rufai’s Allegations

In a statement signed by his Media Aide, Rasheed Abubakar, Mumuni dismissed El-Rufai’s remarks as divisive and misleading, urging him to refrain from dragging Lagos indigenes into his political frustrations.

He clarified that those El-Rufai referred to as “Lagos Boys” are not necessarily indigenes, but individuals from other states who have shown loyalty to Tinubu over the years.

Mumuni, a core Lagosian, revealed that despite his active role in Tinubu’s campaign, he has not been given any political appointment and does not lobby for positions.

Mumuni Defends Tinubu’s Administration

The APC chieftain further defended the administration’s appointments, stating that Lagos-based APC loyalists have played a significant role in the party’s success and should not be undermined by political rhetoric.

“El-Rufai should be mindful of his utterances. I was deeply involved in the campaign and security planning, yet I do not parade myself around for appointments. If the President finds me suitable, I will serve, but I won’t let outsiders define Lagos politics,” he stated.
