Governor Chukwuma Soludo has emerged as the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) governorship candidate for the upcoming Anambra 2025 election, securing the party’s ticket unopposed.

The APGA governorship primary was held on Saturday at Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, under tight security and the supervision of INEC officials.

Chief Uchenna Nwegbo, Chairman of the APGA Primary Election Committee, declared Soludo the winner, confirming that the process complied with the Electoral Act 2022 and INEC guidelines.

“Out of 3,260 total delegates, 3,175 were accredited. Soludo received 3,168 yes-votes, with four votes declared invalid. There were no no-votes,” Nwegbo stated.

Soludo’s unanimous endorsement by the party affirms his stronghold within APGA as he seeks a second term in office.

In his acceptance speech, the governor appreciated the delegates and praised APGA for conducting a transparent and well-organized primary.

“Never before in Anambra’s history has there been such a wide consensus. I am truly humbled. I assure you that I will not let APGA and the good people of Anambra down,” he said.

Soludo also reiterated his commitment to the state’s development agenda, promising to deepen efforts in infrastructure, human capital, security, and economic transformation.

“Anambra has not seen anything yet. Our agenda is loaded, and we will continue the progress unbroken,” he added.

Meanwhile, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Soludo has re-nominated Dr Onyekachi Ibezim as his running mate for the November 8, 2025, governorship election.
