Access Bank has issued an official statement in response to serious allegations that a former Contact Centre agent secretly filmed female colleagues without their consent.
In a release shared on Monday, the bank confirmed that the matter has been handed over to the appropriate authorities and assured the public of its full cooperation with ongoing investigations.
“Our attention has been drawn to reports circulating on social media regarding an alleged offence involving a former Contact Centre Agent. The matter has been handed over to the appropriate authorities, who are conducting an investigation. We are fully cooperating with them in this process,” the statement read.
The Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ) had earlier reported that the former agent, identified as Stephen Ejezie, allegedly recorded over 400 videos of female colleagues in compromising situations, including while changing clothes or using restrooms. FIJ’s investigation revealed that hidden cameras were allegedly planted in private areas to secretly record female staff without their consent.
Shockingly, despite the grave allegations and reported evidence, FIJ claimed that Stephen Ejezie had not yet been charged in court at the time of the publication.
Access Bank reaffirmed its commitment to zero tolerance for any form of harassment, misconduct, or privacy violations. The bank also emphasized that it is providing full support to affected employees.

“At Access Bank, we uphold a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and any form of privacy violation. We are actively engaging with affected employees to provide all necessary support. The safety, dignity, and well-being of our employees and customers remain our highest priority,” the statement continued.
The bank urged the public to rely only on official communication channels for accurate information and updates regarding the case.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns around workplace harassment, employee safety, and corporate accountability in Nigeria’s banking sector.
