A fresh political crisis has erupted in the Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, accused of mismanaging party funds and making misleading claims about financial donations.

In a statement, Zamfara APC Secretary, Hon. Mansur Aminu Khalifa, dismissed Matawalle’s claim of donating ₦500 million to party supporters, challenging him to provide evidence of how the funds were distributed. The statement also accused Matawalle’s faction of spreading false narratives to manipulate party members.

Further allegations against Matawalle include the diversion of 12,000 bags of rice donated by President Bola Tinubu for APC supporters and the alleged misappropriation of ₦50 million meant for victims of armed banditry and fire disasters in Zamfara.

The crisis escalated as Khalifa declared that Tukur Danfulani, the current state APC chairman, is no longer recognized, insisting that his suspension remains valid. This declaration further deepens the power struggle within the party.

Amid the turmoil, the statement praised Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji for his contributions to President Tinubu’s 2023 election victory, positioning him as a rising political force in Zamfara APC.
