The Lagos State Government has appointed social media personality Ayomiposi Oluwadahunsi, popularly known as Mandy Kiss, as a brand ambassador for its Kick Against Drug and Substance Abuse (LASKADA) campaign.

The announcement was made during a LASKADA event on Tuesday, where the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, officially conferred the role on Mandy Kiss.

In a viral video shared online, Ogunlende emphasized that the choice was influenced by Mandy Kiss’s strong presence among Nigerian youths.

• “Drug abuse is a pandemic affecting our streets, our society, and our communities. The government cannot fight it alone. We must collaborate with people who can reach the masses, and Mandy Kiss, with over 400,000 followers, fits that role,” he explained.

The commissioner further urged young people to embrace the campaign, declaring, “With the powers conferred on me, I hereby appoint her as one of our brand ambassadors. So, say no to drugs. Say what? Say no to drugs.”

The appointment, however, comes at a time when Mandy Kiss has been trending for controversial remarks about her personal lifestyle, including her recent viral “marathon sex” comments that sparked widespread criticism on social media.

Despite the backlash, the Lagos State government appears confident that Mandy Kiss’s influence will help drive the anti-drug abuse message to millions of Nigerian youths.
