Spotify has named Burna Boy as the Top Afrobeats Artist of 2025, leading a list dominated entirely by Nigerian musicians.

The global streaming platform ranked Rema in second place and Wizkid in third, while Asake and Ayra Starr, the latest signee of Roc Nation, completed the top five Afrobeats stars of the year.

Notably, Davido, often considered part of the Afrobeats “Big Three” alongside Burna Boy and Wizkid, was absent from the 2025 rankings.

Spotify also shared insights on global Afrobeats consumption, revealing that the United States leads in streaming the genre, followed by Brazil, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Nigeria.
