Senate to Rule on Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s Resumption October 7 – Akpabio’s Aide.

The fate of suspended Kogi Central lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, will be decided when the Senate reconvenes on October 7, 2025, according to Kenny Okolugbo, Consultant on Communication and Strategy in the Office of the Senate President.

Natasha was suspended on March 6, 2025, for six months over alleged violations of Senate rules following her public face-off with Senate President Godswill Akpabio, whom she accused of sexual harassment — a claim Akpabio has denied.

Earlier this week, the Senate leadership unsealed her office, allowing her access for the first time since the suspension. However, questions remain about whether she will be fully reinstated to legislative duties.

Speaking on Channels TV, Okolugbo explained that while Natasha has every right to her office since her suspension has elapsed, her official resumption will be subject to the Senate’s collective decision.

  • “She has gained access into her office, she has every right to go to her office since her six months suspension has elapsed. Even though the case is still at the Court of Appeal, the leadership of the Senate took a wise decision,” Okolugbo said.

NAIJABLOGDAILY reports that the Senate is currently on recess and will reconvene on October 7, 2025, when members are expected to deliberate on her resumption.
