The Nigerian Senate has officially unsealed the office of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, marking a major step towards her full reinstatement at the National Assembly.
Her office, located in Suite 2.05 of the Senate Wing, was reopened by Deputy Director of the Sergeant-At-Arms, Alabi Adedeji, as confirmed in a video obtained by our correspondent. Sources close to the senator also verified the development.
This move clears the path for Akpoti-Uduaghan to resume legislative duties after serving a controversial six-month suspension handed down in March 2025 over alleged misconduct. The suspension had sparked nationwide debates and calls from civil society groups, Nigerians in diaspora, and political observers for her reinstatement.

A Federal High Court had earlier ruled that the six-month suspension was “excessive and unlawful.” Following that judgment, Akpoti-Uduaghan wrote to the Clerk of the National Assembly, Kamoru Ogunlana, requesting her resumption. However, Ogunlana initially stated she could not return due to pending appeals in her legal battle with the Senate.
With the unsealing of her office, the development signals that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan may now regain access to the Senate chambers and continue her representation of Kogi Central at the Red Chamber.
