Akpabio ‘Worst Senate President Nigeria Ever Had’ – Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Alleges.

ABUJA, Nigeria

Suspended Kogi Central lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has launched a blistering attack on Senate President Godswill Akpabio, labeling him “the worst ever in the history of Nigeria’s Senate.” She made the remarks on Tuesday while addressing journalists outside the National Assembly complex after security prevented her from entering to resume the plenary session.

Akpoti-Uduaghan accused Akpabio of running the Red Chamber “like a third term as governor of Akwa Ibom State,” alleging that senators are routinely shut down when their contributions do not align with his position.

“That outburst I had on the floor was just a combination of so many wrongs that Akpabio has meted against me,” she said.
“We’ve had some very good Senate Presidents – the late Chuba Okadigbo, David Mark, Bukola Saraki, even Ahmed Lawan. This is the worst Assembly Nigeria has ever had, and I hope we won’t have to suffer this anymore.”
“Senate President Godswill Akpabio runs the Nigerian Senate as if it’s a third-term governor of Akwa Ibom. Many governors are afraid. You’re not allowed to speak. If you try to air views on critical issues and it doesn’t conform with what he wants, you get shut down.”

The senator, visibly frustrated at being denied entry, said the action further proves her claims of intolerance and political targeting within the current Senate leadership.
