Popular media personality and social commentator Scott Iguma has been remanded in prison custody by the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikoyi following his public accusations against real estate company PWAN.
Iguma was arrested on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, and detained at Panti Police Station after he alleged that PWAN defrauded multiple customers. He appeared in court on Thursday afternoon (July 17), where the court ordered that he be remanded until Monday, July 21, 2025, pending further proceedings.
Singer Kokopee Confirms Remand
Nigerian singer Kokopee posted a video on Instagram from outside the Ikoyi court complex, saying Iguma had been taken into custody despite, in his words, “fighting for people.” Kokopee questioned the action, asking: “Did he kill someone? Did he commit a crime? In Lagos, I thought they said defamation is not a crime?” (quoted as stated).
What Sparked The Case
Earlier in the week — Monday, July 14, 2025 — Iguma published a series of Instagram posts accusing PWAN of “selling receipts instead of land” to would-be buyers. He further claimed he had visited the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to submit 25 additional petitions, saying that brought the total to 130 petitions filed by alleged victims. According to him, about 30 more people had yet to formalize their complaints, and “more victims” were still contacting him.

Allegations Of Police Intimidation
Iguma also alleged that the owner of PWAN has used “top police officers” to intimidate or suppress customers who complain publicly. These claims remain allegations by Iguma; PWAN and the police had not issued formal public responses as of press time.
