Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has officially submitted the names of nominees for the reconstitution of the Oyo State Judicial Service Commission and the Oyo State Civil Service Commission to the Oyo State House of Assembly for legislative screening and approval.
The nominee list was presented during the House plenary on Monday, with Speaker Rt. Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin reads the governor’s letters before lawmakers.
Governor Makinde emphasized that the nominations are in compliance with Section 197 of the 1999 Constitution of Nigeria (as amended), which mandates the Governor to appoint members of such commissions with legislative approval.
Oyo Judicial Service Commission Nominees:
- Hon. Justice Iyabo Yerima – Chief Judge of Oyo State (Chairperson, Statutory)
- Bar. Musibau Adetunbi
- Bar. Wahab Adedigba
- Chief Joshua Abioye
- Mrs. Moyosore Ajani
Oyo Civil Service Commission Nominees:
- Alhaji Aderibigbe Kamoru Abiodun – Chairman
- Alhaji Kolajo Isiaq Adewale – Full-Time Commissioner
- Mr. Olutoyin Adedeji Akanmu – Full-Time Commissioner
- Pastor Taiwo Oluwagbemiro – Part-Time Commissioner
- Mr. Oladimeji Oladapo – Part-Time Commissioner

Governor Makinde noted that the reconstitution of both commissions is crucial to strengthening judicial administration and public service efficiency in Oyo State. He urged the House to give the nominations prompt and favorable consideration.
Speaker Ogundoyin assured that the screening process will begin without delay and will follow due legislative procedures.
